DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS:

Federal mantel, adorned with gentle curves, delicate beads, and dentil details, reflects the refined elegance of the classic American architectural style, known as Federal style.  The mantel beautifully embodies this distinctive style through its refined proportions, elegant molding, and subtly detailed ornamentation.  The clean lines and symmetrical silhouette express the heart of the style, blending sophisticated minimalism with graceful beauty.   The mantel’s most apparent resemblance to Federal architecture is the tooth-like trim along the bottom that models the dentil molding found along the rooftops of many Federal-style houses. 

FAUX WOOD:

Although our fireplace mantel shelves appear to be antique wood timbers and beams, they are actually made using our patented casting formulation. Every concrete mantel shelf is hand-cast, and hand-painted by incredible coloring artists to reproduce the natural patina and color nuances acquired with exposure to the elements over time. With every Lexington Hearth Mantel Shelf, you get the beauty of antique timbers, without the splinters. We call that “NATURE…Re-created!”

COLOR:

Mantel shelves are hand-painted and will have minor variances in color and highlights.

• Luna:

A soft off-white with subtle silver-grey undertones, reminiscent of the full moon on a clear night. This luminous, pearly shade of lunar white complements the restrained elegance of the Federal design style, mirroring the lightness and refinement that define its interiors. Luna’s delicate grey cast and pearlescent hue pair perfectly with the style’s traditional palette of faded colonial tones, soft pastels, and warm neutrals. Its clean, understated presence enhances the symmetrical layouts, delicate moldings, and classical detailing found in Federal-era homes, adding a quiet sophistication.

• Avocado:

Avocado finish is a deep avocado green with muted olive undertones and a charcoal-infused base. The color offers a rich, earthy alternative to more traditional neutrals. Evocative of aged greenery and historic mineral pigments, our Avocado color complements the formality and symmetry of the Federal style with quiet strength. The tone’s subdued richness enhances the mantel’s clean lines and refined detailing, offering a dramatic yet dignified presence.

• Raven:

The Raven finish embodies a sophisticated dark charcoal, blending the cool depth of slate gray with the profound richness of near-black tones. Its subtle tonal variations create a textured yet smooth appearance that evokes the quiet dignity and timelessness of historic Federal-style interiors.  Understated yet bold, our Raven color reinforces the Federal Mantel’s classic form while adding depth and a subtle contemporary edge.

Our high-definition casting formulation is noncombustible and authentically replicates the rich wood grain & character details of antique timbers. Meets or exceeds ASTM E136 laboratory test standards for non-combustibility.
