Grist Mill Mantel

Non-Combustible Fireplace Mantel Shelf

DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS:

Along the banks of many Kentucky rivers and streams, you’ll find the ruins of an old grist mill. Farmers and homesteaders relied on the grist mill for flour and cornmeal. Our Grist Mill mantel is molded directly from a 6” x 6” beam which faithfully reproduces every nuance and detail of this beautiful beam. Features include deeply weathered woodgrain, tool marks, insect damage, saw marks, checks & splits, and character knots.

FAUX WOOD:

Although our fireplace mantel shelves appear to be antique wood timbers and beams, they are actually made using our patented casting formulation. Every concrete mantel shelf is hand-cast, and hand-painted by incredible coloring artists to reproduce the natural patina and color nuances acquired with exposure to the elements over time. With every Lexington Hearth Mantel Shelf, you get the beauty of antique timbers, without the splinters. We call that “NATURE…Re-created!”

COLOR:

Mantel shelves are hand-painted and will have minor variances in color and highlights

  • Maduro:

The rich Maduro finish is like a dark wrapper on a fine cigar. A gorgeous combination of dark mahogany base color, brown mid-tones, and finished with subtle honey and cream highlights.

  • Pale Honey:

The Pale Honey finish is reminiscent of the pale golden color of bourbon after a few years of aging in a charred oak barrel. Light brown base color with light honey mid-tones, pale grey shadows, and finished with cream highlights.

  • Weathered Grey:

The Weathered Grey finish is inspired by the natural grey color tones that untreated wood takes on when is exposed to the elements. Pale bluish-grey base with patches of honey tones, charcoal grey shadows, and finished with hints of pale green and cream highlights.

DIMENSIONS/WEIGHT:

Cross section 6" deep x 6" tall and 60”/72" wide, Weight 69/86 lbs. (mantels are individually hand cast and will have minor variances in weight and final dimensions)
